BarnYard Buddies
Therapeutic Summer Program
A one‑week, structured, animal‑assisted self‑regulation program for children
Parenting a child with behavioral or mental health challenges can feel overwhelming — not just for your child, but for you and your entire family. The Barnyard Buddies Therapeutic Summer Program was created to provide children with the structure, tools, and emotional support they need to understand their triggers and begin practicing real, practical self‑regulation skills they can use in everyday life.
This program blends the calming presence of animals with a therapeutic, trauma‑informed structure that helps children build confidence, emotional awareness, and body‑based calming skills in a nurturing farm environment.
What This Week Provides
Over four immersive days on the farm (Monday–Thursday, 3 hours per day), your child will:
-
Identify the triggers that make daily life difficult — such as transitions, sensory overload, frustration, or uncertainty
-
Learn one to two practical, repeatable self‑regulation strategies they can use the moment those triggers appear
-
Practice these strategies in real time with the support of our animals and trained facilitators
-
Build emotional awareness, confidence, and body‑based calming skills
-
Experience a predictable, nurturing structure during a season when many children lose their route
Parents also receive simple, actionable tools — including a short activity you can do with your child on the ride home — to reinforce what they learned and help you feel empowered instead of overwhelmed.
Why This Intensive Program Matters
When a child can say,
“Transitions are a trigger for me,”
and then immediately knows,
“And here’s what I can do when that happens,”
their entire world begins to shift.
This program gives them that clarity — and gives you the tools to support them long after the week ends.
Clear Distinctions — and Why the Investment Matters
The Barnyard Buddies Summer Therapeutic Program is intentionally different from a typical summer program.
It is not recreational, not a horseback‑riding week, and not a petting‑zoo experience.
Instead, it is a highly structured, therapeutic, animal‑assisted self‑regulation intensive that mirrors the depth of work found in partial programs — without removing your child from school or placing them in a clinical setting.
Program Investment: $1,200
Early Rate: $1,150 for the first 6 children who pre‑register
Your investment reflects the level of individualized support and therapeutic structure your child receives:
-
Exceptionally small groups: A 1 facilitator : 2 children ratio ensures deep, individualized attention
-
Therapeutic‑level structure: Each day is designed to help your child identify triggers, practice strategies, and apply them in real time
-
Real, transferable skills: Children leave with practical tools they can use immediately in daily life
-
Parent empowerment: You receive simple strategies to support your child at home
-
Purposeful integration day: Friday is an intentional integration day for practicing skills in the home environment
-
A week of stability: Restores structure, predictability, and emotional safety during summer
This is a week designed to create real, lasting change, not temporary entertainment.
